So much exuberance at Torrey Pines

I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before on this blog, but it’s one of the coolest things ever when a client feels good enough about their experience with me to come back for future sessions. Several years ago, Courtney’s mom happened to be at a charity event where I had donated a photo session to be used in a silent auction. She won the session and we used it for Courtney’s high school senior photos that year. A few years later, when Courtney was getting married, she called me back and Dick and I were thrilled to document her wedding to a sweetheart of a groom, Jerry.

Several years have passed since that wedding. The couple now has two beautiful children and they asked me to take some family photos. It was so great to spend that morning with all of them – seeing how their loving connection has evolved over the years, and enjoying their interactions with the kids. And I loved all the bright, sunny (and sometimes silly and chaotic) photos we took that day in Torrey Pines. That said, I won’t lie and tell you that with two toddlers it wasn’t a little bit stressful for the parents at times. But they persevered and I really love the results – a handful of frame-worthy family photos and a ton of outtakes that will surely bring the family a whole lot of joy and laughter for years to come.
